Coach Huw Jones Huw started his Judo late in life. Currently 1st Dan, Huw progressed through the grades rapidly having only started judo in 2002. Huw is no stranger to contact sports, he taught self defence and arrest & restraint procedures in the Royal Air Force. Huw is also an ABA boxing coach. He represented Wales against Scotland and Bavaria along with representing the RAF boxing team for over 3 years before taking up Judo under the guidance of Tom Owen |

Steve Field Although Steve started judo late in life, he was taught by the accomplished South African Sensei Coen van Tonder. Within 5 years he was a 1st Dan and took bronze at the 2002 World Masters. Steve's job brought him to Wales in 2007 and he joined EGH. Since being a member he has won medals at the Welsh (Gold), British (Silver) and Commonwealth (Gold) Masters championships. He has recently qualified as a UKCC judo coach and helps train our Junior and senior members. |

Assistant Coach Lewis Long Lewis is a martial artist in the true sense, 1st Dan in both Judo and Kick Boxing, he took a bronze medal in the world Muay Thai junior championships in 2009. He currently holds Welsh titles in both Kick Boxing an K-1 fighting and also held the British title in MMA (cage fighting). Lewis stared is Judo career under Tony Black before moving to train under Sensei's Tom Owen and Huw Jones at EGH

Assistant Coach Catrin Jones Catrin started Judo under the guidance of Sensei Tom at the age of 8. She quickly progressed through the grades and won two junior Welsh titles before turning senior and taking her senior Welsh title at the age of only 16. Catrin has represented Wales on several occasions. Catrin coaches both the Senior and Junior players. |
